Crude fibre eliminates riskJELUVET® is a so-called raw fibre concentrate with a crude fibre content of more than 70%. JELUVET® contains mainly cellulose and lignin, which are insoluble and inert for the digestive tract of the pig. The insolubility of JELUVET® prevents the negative effects of fermentation processes in the intestinal tract. As JELUVET® is freshly produced for each order, the toxic risks inherent in harvesting and storing crude fibre sources made from crops are eliminated. | ||

Improved faeces consistency
Crude fibre products, such as sugar beet chips, could result in greasy faeces of the sow, which may cause clogging of the slats. This leads to bad sanitary conditions because cleaning up the stable via the slats is made difficult.
Based on the reliable water retention capacity of JELUVET®, the application of an innovative concentrate will cause an even and sound faeces consistency, completed by a smooth intestinal passage of the feed pulp and the related reduction of possible MMA problems.
Absence of mycotoxins
JELUVET® is absolutely free of mycotoxins. The ratio of abortion and miscarriage caused by mycotoxins and the severity and number of fertility problems are facts that clearly speak for using a crude fibre source that is not adulterated. The usage of JELUVET® excludes the risks of mycotoxins.
The application
JELUVET® is a completely natural and highly effective product. We therefore recommend to feed JELUVET® in restrictive feeding systems with minimum 1% but not more than 2.5%. For ad-libitum feeding, we recommend a dosage of 3-4%. In doing so, it should be ensured that the animals drink enough water, especially during the summer season or in warm periods.
Swelling capacity
The water binding capacity of conventional and commonly used sources of crude fibre is limited: wheat bran is able to absorb about 200% of water, grass cobs about 250% and sugar beet pulp about 300%. The water binding capacity of JELUVET®, however, is more than 500%! This means: the JELUVET® raw fibre concentrate swells heavily in the animal's stomach, resulting in a long-lasting satiation effect. This avoids overfeeding under the ad-libitum feeding system and lowers the risk of adiposity by decreasing the caloric value of the feed ration. The outcome is a healthy and calm stock.
Crude fibre in restricted feeding
In restricted feeding systems for pregnant sows, a regular crude fibre content of approx. 6% of the ration is targeted. With traditional cereal-based rations, a maximum crude fibre content of 4% can be reached without jeopardizing the nutritional guidelines. So the traditional ration still needs an additional dietary upgrade of minimum 2% of crude fibre. For a feed ration using bran as a crude fibre source, approximately 20% of bran would be necessary to fill the gap of the missing 2% of crude fibre. This is not reasonable from a calorific, hygienic and economic point of view. Therefore, JELUVET® is the optimal source of crude fibre and the ingredient of choice even in restricted feeding.
Because of its high crude fibre content, a small quantity of JELUVET® is sufficient to enrich rations. Thus, this way of crude fibre enrichment is not only easier and bears fewer risks from a nutritional perspective, but is also more cost-efficient.
